We are known for our trees. Plain and simple, you will not find a better selection any where in South Texas and you won’t find anyone with better prices.

Remember, trees are sold based on their pot size but the actual size of a tree can vary greatly. Our 10 gallon trees are usually the same size as other nursery’s 15 gallon trees.

We sell only tried and true varieties, grown locally for better performance in our differing soils and environments. Trees grown in East Texas or Louisiana don’t always like our alkaline soil and many will turn yellow after a few years and won’t thrive.

We carry a huge selection of shrubs and small specimen trees such as crape myrtles, hollies, nandinas and more. Our knowledgeable staff can help you make a plan for your garden, will show you the right way to plant to insure success or better yet, we’ll plant any tree valued at $100.00 or more for free and planting of other trees and shrubs is available at very reasonable rates and are also fall under the same great guarantee.

We regularly offer free weekend seminars on how to plant, prune, fertilize and select trees and shrubs. Please check our newsletter for helpful tips and advice as well as a schedule of upcoming events.

A few of our favorite trees…

Cedar Elm: A large (over 50 ft. tall) upright shade tree, native to Texas. Beautiful form and yellow-orange fall foliage. It is tolerant to drought and a wide variety of soils.

Sierra Oak: A small, evergreen oak tree that is Oak Wilt resistant and which grows to about 35 ft. tall. It is the best oak available and they are difficult to come by. We only have a few. The have limited acorn production and are in great demand -so buy them now because we might not have them again for a while!

Monterrey Oak (Mexican White Oak): A very popular fast growing oak from Northern Mexico. The new foliage is red then turns dark green. Evergreen in mild winters. Will reach heights of 40 to 50 ft.

Burr Oak: Large rounded shade tree native to Texas. Yellow fall color. Large ornamental acorns (golf ball sized) are a real novelty. Tolerates drought and poor soils. Grows over 50 ft. tall.

Loquat: A rapidly-growing evergreen tree and can reach 25 to 30 feet in height in the shade but can reach 15 feet tall with a 15 to 25-foot-spread in a sunny location. Its long leaves are rusty-colored beneath and have a coarse texture. Fragrant clusters of creamy white flowers are produced in fall, followed by the delicious, brightly colored, winter fruit.

Anaqua: Small trees usually grow about 15 to 35 feet tall. It is an evergreen and is covered with clusters of white star-shaped flowers in the spring, followed by small orange fruit. This tree has a moderate growth rate.

Live Oak: Large Texas native shade tree with broad, spreading, heavily limbed crown. Long-lived and sturdy it is one of our best!

Red Oak: a smaller tree than some of the others listed (25 -50 ft.) the Red Oak is rounded with open branching habit. Brilliant red foliage in the fall. Roots grow deep; it is a good tree to plant along a street or in a lawn area.

Mountain Laurel: a Texas favorite. This small, drought tolerant tree is found in almost every landscape in San Antonio. It has glossy, dark green foliage and in the spring it is covered with fragrant purple flowers. You know spring has arrive when the scent of the Mountain Laurel is in the air!
